I've come across a very good deal on a Mark X, and thought it would be a good base to build a .375 Ruger on. What would be recommended for a M70 style 3 position safery. Also, I want to use an inside the triggerguard floorepalte release and need to know the best way to go here as well. FWIW...I will restock it with a McMillan. Thanks. Brent

Easiest way to get an insided the guard release is buy an older MKX. If you have a cross button a guard with the release in the bow will run you around $90-100. http://www.e-gunparts.com/DisplayAd.asp?chrProductSKU=8...rSuperSKU=881550&MC= You can also find the guard on Ebay once in a while. http://cgi.ebay.com/Mauser-98-Interarms-Mark-X-Trigger-...p1638Q2em118Q2el1247 You can go with a 2 position like Jim Kobe( ![]() As usual just my $.02 Paul K

Or try and find an '09 trigger guard/bottom metal. Go with the Ed Lapour safety, you will not be disappointed. By the way, it's KOBE, no "L". ![]() Jim Kobe 10841 Oxborough Ave So Bloomington MN 55437 952.884.6031 Professional member American Custom Gunmakers Guild

Can't beat that. ![]() I have a number of the MKXs many don't like the trigger but I've found them OK for a hunting rifle. If you are going with the Lapour then just removed the saftey bar& screw from the factory trigger. As usual just my $.02 Paul K

I would just buy a new trigger. They are only $50 and make all the difference.

The Numrich bottom metal is damn rough compared to the original MK X, even with the later release. I doubt you will like it better. If you shop around the auction sites make sure itis original Zastava and not a cast look-a-like. "Experience" is the only class you take where the exam comes before the lesson.

That sounded meaner than I meant. It is cast, though and there's no fixing the gaps in the trigger guard and lever without a bunch of labor. On mine, the floorplate was slightly bowed, too. "Experience" is the only class you take where the exam comes before the lesson.

I was thrilled to unload mine on gb for a loss but IMO they are a piece a shite. I'd rather have an military guard anyday. -Don

I sure didn't take it as mean. I have never seen one and had "ASSUMED" they were used MKX parts. I appreciate the info. As usual just my $.02 Paul K

why not just go with a Blackburn and be done with it.

I have Blackburn on a recent M70 I built, but I really don't want to deal with the wait this time. Although I am considering Sunny Hill. Brent
