Does anyone know where I could get a bolt magnafluxed or otherwise non-destructively tested? I would be more comfortable with someone familiar with gun parts as opposed to just trying to find someone in the phone book.

Welcome new member ! Check your yellow pages and you should be able to find a company that does testing with various methods. Most commonly problems would exist ,with a used gun , at the base of the locking lugs.I don't think you really need a gun person to do it as a bolt is fairly simple.

Yup, any auto machine / crankshaft shop. Just stay with it while they do it so no custody issues. The shops I have talked to about it have thought it was really cool.
