I realize it isn't the finest set up in the world, but the bottom metal is perfect for my setup. But, now that I've been shooting it more, the magazine plate is popping open under recoil. It is one of the aluminum trigger guard/bottom metal with the right side push-button magazine release. Can these be fixed satisfactorily? Particularly considering it is supposed to be a dangerous game rifle. Dave

Dave I don't know for sure about your rifle but we had the same problem with a .458 Ruger. The fix was a heavier latch spring. I have no doubts yours is a similar problem. Also check the depth that the magazine catch goes "in" making sure there is nothing impeding it.

I'll take a look at that. The latch is pretty wimpy, not much beef to it. Dave
