Will soon have a Ruger 416 build in the process and the original stock is that gray laminate wood with the thin hard pad.
Would like to replace the pad with a slightly longer, softer one and was wondering if any of the bigger companies sold a replacement pad that fits without grinding?

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

Pachmayr shows a pre-fit Deccelerator for some of the Rugers.

I've never used a pre-fit and am curious how close they are out of the box.

Randy if you want to keep the same LOP and have a decent recoil pad you have to shorten stock aprox 1/2 inch. Which makes the replacment pad to large. Need to do that on my Ruger also.
