Hello,

I have an old 870 shotgun with a gloss stock. I'm wanting to remove the gloss finish and turn it into a satin finish. I have no clue what to use or any useful tips. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance.

I've used Watco Danish oil finish, 400 grit wet/dry sand paper and a roll of paper towels and ended up with good results.

You could just leave the DuPont polyurethane intact, knock the glossiness down with some very fine Scotch Brite, or 1500 wet paper. That is the quick way out.
