Without a doubt, a fine rework mexican.. too bad it doesn't ahve the cocking piece..

and, if someone wanted a nearly done project, 2500 bucks is probably in the right arena

So the Reciever only. whats the difference between a Mex and a m95 spanish or a m96 swede reciever? Just a third recoil lug recess?

Well I guess that spanish m95 has a squared flat bolt head bottom.

mexican is a 98, the others aren't...

both are small rings, which is the only thing in common

No kidding!

I was looking for the actually detailed blueprint differences in the Bare receiever. Maybe someone else knows?

Does a mex have the third lug? Tang area alittle different? That mex in the picture looks more mike a 95/96 than a 98

Regular 93 on left, the SR 98 tang looks like the one on the right.

Yes, it has the safety lug & recess. Also has the standard 98 compliment of safety features missing on the pre-98's.

I have a Mex 1910 action with a Mex 36 bolt I would consider selling or trading. Includes a short-chambered A-B barrel in .257 Roberts. Cost is $250 plus calculated shipping to your ZIP.

Pic's are here: http://photobucket.com/albums/v476/Straight8/

Bolt face has some pitting and probably will require a machine cut to clean it up.

Will consider trade for like-value scope.

Ship to FFL only. Make sure your FFL will complete the transaction with only a photo copy of my drivers licences provided. Otherwise, a FFL to FFL transaction will increase cost by $40.

I will leave this offer here for a day or two, then move it to the AR and 24Hr Classifieds.

Are the Mexican Barrel threads the same as a Swede small shank?

Way to go Chic, I know you can make something really special out of that!

I bought this 1954 Mexican barreled action at the last Houston Gun Show. It is unusual even for Mex's in that it has a full length magazine and is chambered in 30-06, also has a pointed Springfield-type cocking piece rather than the concave version:

fla3006: have yet to see a 1954--nice snag.

Re history, was the 1954 a converted 1936?

tom, don't know, all I can say is the triggerguard/magazine assembly is identical to the intermediate (7x57) version but is longer in the magazine area. And the magazine cut out in the action is longer and looks like it was originally done that way. Ludwig Olson refers to the 1954 on page 190 of his book "Mauser Bolt Rifles".
