Is there anyone out there who could turn my CZ action into a stainless one? How much do you reckon it would cost? Thank's

Are you talking have a similar action made out of stainless steel or rather having some form of electro plating applied to your existing moly action?

If the latter there are a number of people in the U.S who could do such work, i do not have the names of any in particular as I am in the U.K but if you do a search on this forum for action plating or coating or do a general web search for "gun parts plating" you should come up with a number of hits

I'd suggest calling your local alchemist (check the Yellow Pages)...

And then, post the results here - I have a few pieces of iron I'd like turned into gold...

Jonathan, I like the CZ action, it's too bad they don't offer it in a stainless 550. I was just curious if there was anyone who made a Stainless Magnum mauser action. Sorry, I forgot to type in the Sarcastic button on my first post.

you COULD have it nickel plated and brushed, which would LOOK sorta, kinda, maybe like brushed stainless

You could easily have it coated with Cerakote in a stianless color. It would look exactly like bead blasted stainless when done.

PM me if you are itnerested, and I'll give you some more info.

I would like to have an old beaten up O/U Lanber 12 gauge I own, turned into a SxS Purdey with Bolino engraving. But I doubt it is any more possible than your CZ turning into stainless. Big Grin

I once had a Mexican Mauser electroless plated and it actually looked fairly good.

I wouldn't do it again as I'd be concerned with hydrogen embrittlement of the base metal and with 60,000 PSI under the hood we don't need this stuff.

I don't know that it would be an issue but don't want to learn the hard way!!!

The easy answer is enjoy it for what it is.
CM is a great action material. Many stainless materials will rust too.. The CZ will last forever as it is... At least, forever as it pertains to us..
