Still needs a shadow line surrounding the base of the cove moulding. Each end should disappear at the point.

I like them to have a smooth curve from the CP into the stock; NO shadow like; those look awkward to me.
In fact, I can do without any cheekpiece at all, but I remove the shadow step from any stock I get/make.

Well, it certainly is easier to eliminate details. I think a shadowline, when well designed and accomplished adds character to a custom stock. JMHO

I just don't like the look of it. I actually removed that detail from my patterns too. I like a smooth transition from CP to stock. No steps.
