I doubt that it's a Mauser....it resembles a LH M-70 a bit but there's a lot of things that aren't M-70

The recoil lug appears to be a separate piece.

I like this design...interesting!

Its a left handed Rem 700 with an aftermarket recoil lug, after market trigger, and machined to take a bolt from a left handed model 70 or a Left handed Ruger. Or the bolt was made for the action. And aftermarket bottom metal.......But I would bet the action is a Remmie

My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

remington with a full claw extractor? i can see the recoil lug as one of those add ons for remington, but the thing just doesnt match anything i've seen. i would go with the poster that said a prewar 70 with the rear or the action turned round...?

Gun Control - A theory espoused by some monumentally stupid people; who claim to believe, against all logic and common sense, that a violent predator who ignores the laws prohibiting them from robbing, raping, kidnapping, torturing and killing their fellow human beings will obey a law telling them that they cannot own a gun.

I'd guess the bottom metal to be sunny-hill, looks like the one on one of my mdl 70, the rest I wouldnt have a clue, other than it looks like a 700, pretty sure 700 have a notch behind the box on the bottom like that one does.

How does it compare to a Dakota model 97?

FISH!!

Heed the words of Winston Smith in Orwell's 1984:

"Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right."

It has been said that Butch Searcy made a few Remmies' with a crf and claw extractor. I saw a picture either here or on BR.com. It was at Mike Bryant's shop for a rebarrel.

Try to look unimportant. Your enemy might be low on ammo.

And the grand prize goes to Butch for his astuteness. I got this photo, and another, from Butch Searcy about 15 years ago, when he was converting post 64 Model 70s and Remmys for controlled round feed.

I would love to get my hands on the action in the photo to see exactly what he did.

Looks just like a lh Remmy that was rebuilt
by Mark Penrod. The finshed rifle was in all the mags at the time.

I've got a similar photo, but mine came from
Mark Penrod.

The book, RIFLESMITHING, by Jack Mitchell
covers most of these modifications.

22,

I don't have a clue how to do that, but I'd
be glad to mail it to you. I'm not a lefty
and I don't really like Remmys, so I have no
need of it.

It's yours for the asking.
