Subject: Proposed "Safety" Regulations Would Dry Up Ammunition Sales

Texas State Rifle Association Political Action Committee
TSRA members, family and friends:
http://www.nraila.org/Legislation/Federal/Read.aspx?id=3145
The link above goes to an NRA-ILA page that explains a proposed rule change, rules created by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). The proposed rule indiscriminately treats ammunition, powder and primers as "explosives." Among many other provisions, the proposed rule would:
1. Prohibit possession of firearms in commercial "facilities containing explosives"~ an obvious problem for your local gun store!
2. Require evacuation of all "facilities containing explosives" ~~even your local Wal-Mart~~during any electrical storm!
3. Prohibit smoking within 50 feet of "facilities containing explosives."
The public comment period ends July 12. The time to file your own comment, or learn more about the OSHA proposal is NOW! Use the link above to the NRA-ILA page and read more about the problem and find a draft letter opposing the OSHA rule on "explosives".

OSHA can't tend the construction sites let alone all hazerdous work places. Now they are coming in the back door to call propellants explosives. They haven't the foggiest notion of what they are talking about but are sticking their nose where it is not needed or belongs. Must be a new director that's also a liberal gun grabber. I never saw them on a job site that needed them and they should keep out of this foray now. I do believe it's down sizing time again.

Just came here to see how much interest on this issue. People are in a tizzy on many other shooting sites re these proposed OSHA regs. Doesn't seem to be much concern here. Figured there'd be a firestorm over in the Crater, but just the usual Bush lovers VS Bush haters BS.(sigh)

Is this fact? What I've noticed is nothing this extreme has been proposed until the Dims (read anti-2nd amendment party) gained control of Congress...enough said?

Sorry Gimpy,
I voted for the worthless ba$%ard and can no longer support him or any of his continued deception of America. The dude hates middle class America or he wouldn't be so eager to ruin it. In his eyes we have been living to well.

Hi Danny, I never was a Bush lover either. Voted for him as the lesser-of-two evils. My first post was really tongue-in cheek. I don't really believe either your premise or mine. I just felt my conclusion was as valid as yours! Anyway, FWIW, I've e-mailed both Senators, my Congressman, and OSHA to express my concerns.

Thats the way to do it Gimpy. We have to e-mail our opinions. I wasn't being critical of you by the way. I guess I am tired of hearing and seeing these things poping up on a weekly basis. Last week it was illegal immigration. Who knows this coming week.
Regards,
Danny

Gimpy-- I did the same and then I contacted five of my hunting and reloading friends, informed them of it and asked them to do what I did. I wonder how many folks who condem what OSHA is trying to actually got to the site and wrote an objection to OSHA? Tom Purdom

I sent in my comments via web. Very polite, fact based and professional. I suggest that emotion be left out of any comments.

The Dept of Labor has over reached and recently extended the comment period. Send in your comments, they all get entered into the Congressional Record. This is an opportunity to pile on and then enjoy the results, as OSHA "revises" the proposed regs.

To be honest with you, we couldn't figure out how to inform OSHA, so Mrs. Gimpy and I sent letters via snail mail. Evidently there's been a 60 day extension of the response period, maybe this will finally get sorted out.

Gimpy and Danny, we could have voted for Al Bore and avoided all this BULL KAKA now. Good ole Al Gore would have taken our guns away in 2001 right after 911. Then he would have asked why we want guns to begin with, were we abused children or the product of not inhaling the burning rope. You guys are forgetting that Bombastic Bushkin's is the admistration that returned our Hi-CAP magazines. He went over and kicked ass when everybody else wanted to know why the towel heads are pissed at the world. Be grateful for what he has done for us and our rights. He makes mistakes just like you and me. We just have to kick him in the ass once in a while to remind him who we the CONSTITUENTS are and what we're entitled to by the CONSTITUTION. I am a foreign born immigrant. I spent two days in October of 1949 on Ellis Island and my name is on the wall there. I came from the Ukraine and became an American of Ukrainian descent not a Ukrainian American. I cherish the freedoms we have even though we have to constantly fight to maintain them. I am pissed as hell like the rest of you about the ILLEGALS. I think they all should be drop kicked accross the Rio Grand. If you stop and think about what the towel heads have done to our country abroad and not a sole did a damn thing about it til the Texan got pissed and started kicking ass. Let's get behind the BUSH, kick ass and then bring our young men home. Nuff said!!!!!

I am on your side. I am just so mad at the ones we elect continuing to go and blow us off as they have. Please keep writing and voicing your opinions to them. We have started getting their attention , even the dems are getting nervous here in Colorado. I have recruited several liberal dems to our illegal immigration cause by showing them what their newly elected Dem gov and senator is doing. Its a start

I feel the same as you do and I voted for the asshole so Gore would not get in! Bush would have voted to renew the assault weapons ban but his handlers advised against it due to the fact they were afraid it would cost him the election in his second term!!! In my humble opinion, Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate that will honor and protect the US Constitution. Can you imagine what will happen to our rights if Hillary gets elected???? That is one scary bitch!!! I urge all of you to read the information on Ron Paul.

Rolex,
I agree with you about Ron. The talking heads love to call him a crazy nut. People need to check him out if they value their rights of freedom and the US Constitution. Are you in Chile , S.A. I am retiring to Colombia in a few years and hope to spend some time fishing in Chile

The comment period on this has been extended. If there was ever a time to voice your .02, this is it (to OSHA, your senators and representatives)
