SWAP MEET 8am-2pm

April 14th, 2018

JOIN US AT OUR NEW LOCATION!!

After a busy year and lots of changes Shilen is excited to host this year’s Swap Meet in our new location and show off our new building. We hope that you will come and see the new building and bring lots of stuff to sell or trade with others. Please post the enclosed flier in a visible location and help to pass the word to interested people. ANYONE can come and ANYONE can be a vendor. There are NO entry or vendor fees and we will persevere RAIN or SHINE! There will be gun stuff everywhere, buy and sell as much as you like. There will be complementary lunch as always.

**See Barrel Making in process! A small crew will run machines from 8am to 11am and answer any questions you may have about the process.

**Sign up for Drawings – There will be a table set up with a large sign-up chart that automatically enters you in drawings for free or discounted Shilen apparel or merchandise. Drawings are held at 9am, 10am, 10:30am, 11:00, and 1pm. Find that table and get signed up!

** “Swap Meet Barrels” will be put out at 8:00am!! Swap Meet Barrels are barrels that were originally ordered by our customers throughout the year that were either canceled or the customer changed their mind on contour, chamber, etc. We place these barrels back in stock for resale. Throughout the year these barrels are used to fill other orders however, when Swap Meet Time arrives any of these barrels still remaining in stock will be sold at unbelievable discounts to our Swap Meet Customers Only! Please note that these barrels are in NO WAY factory “seconds” or any lower quality than what we produce everyday here at Shilen Rifles. The warranty on these barrels is the same as any of our barrels!

**Have stuff to get rid of ? BYOT (Bring your own table) – Everyone has stuff to clear out to make room for more stuff. Anything gun related, presses, reloading, triggers, scope rings, doesn’t matter how big or how small someone’s here looking for it. space is available on a first come first serve basis, if you want to set up your table the doors will be open Saturday morning at 7:00am for vendors. If you want to just pull up your truck and drop the tail gate there will be space for that as well. Shoot us an email or call to get a vendor note to help answer any questions you may have and get you entered in a separate vendor drawing for free/discounted barrels or triggers. Vendor Drawing is at 1pm and you must be present to win.

**HOST – We just host this thing, people come and go as they like, we start early and don’t run late. Once things are gone, they are gone so if you are looking for something particular get here early and find it quick! Keep an eye on the website Swap Meet page to get early look at some of what will be here.

Please see the attached flier for time and date, YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS THIS ONE!!

See you here,

Team Shilen

What kind of turnout does this usually get. I will be in Dallas exhibiting at the Texas Library Association convention April 3-6, and was hoping to sneak up to the Wannamaker gun show in Tulsa after that.

You know, I've never asked J that question. Always a full house and a lot of buying, selling, and trading. It ain't a Wanamaker.

I used to hunt south of Cross Plains, but the rancher would come into camp and help himself to our adult beverages when we were out hunting. He also liked to drive up to our blinds drunk and ask how were were doing. I'm glad we have our own property now.

Butch,
Sorry I didn't get to see you there really enjoyed meeting with you all in the fellowship after. Wow shilen has really really really grown. It's pretty amazing to see where they're at

And my thanks to the young man who picked up the AR-15 Barrel that I had taken a look at it and was thinking about, I really do appreciate it save me from spending on that appreciate it.

I have to say though I was a little disappointed, only one t-shirt table, and zero beef jerky's. But the real deal breaker for me was there was not a single fantasy knife and sword dealer there. Nobody even offered to sharpen my knife, polish my glasses, or sell me an SKS folding stock that was pinned. Was just amazing to go through and actually see people who are active and care about the Shooting Sports and fellowship one together.

Thanks for inviting us Butch, thanks everybody who came. I recall the first time we did this there were 14 cars in the parking lot, today there was probably a hundred and fifty.

Agree with you that it's head and shoulders above the run of the mill gunshow. The new location is large, clean and easy to get in and out of.

But I do miss the ambiance of their old shop, all the strange and interesting junk stuffed into every nook and cranny. I also miss the various and sundry odd barrels they would drag out. Not much selection this time, for the first time I didn't buy a single barrel. But I still enjoyed it, and I didn't get out unscathed, a barreled action followed me home, so I guess I did buy a Shilen barrel after all.

I missed the endless tables of identical Glocks.
I picked up a scope, talked to a few guy. I got a call I had to be home (Arizona) to sign my tax return so I had to leave early.
Good show.

Lot of bargains. I'm not a pistol guy, but saw a very clean 3 screw Blackhawk in 357 for $300 and I took it home. A friend brought me a bottle of Don Julio 70. My buddy sold 6 scopes and 1 rifle. He bought a beautiful early 870 for $200 and a 541T for $375. It had the adj. peeps and the rail in the fore arm. He also bought one of the many Stiller receivers that they had at $600. They had minor cosmetic blemishes, but you had to look to know it.
I had a great time.

I thought long and hard about picking up one of the Stiller receivers but ended up passing (regretting it now).. we did pick up a Shilen match barrel in .270 though...

I wish I had seen that blackhawk before you did.. I've been looking for one at a good price for a while.. you got a great deal there! Smiler
