Not very attractive but does this metal increase the # of rounds down and by how much? Can a more traditional bottom metal be fitted?

Sort of looks like someone put together a Californica, mule deer, assault system. No idea if it could be converted to a hinge floor plate without having it in my hands and measuring things.

Have to see the bottom, but looks like it was adds to a fn. so converting back should just be a matter of finding the old parts.

And you have the mags taped back to back so that you can just pull and flip em over after chambering the 8th round.
