I love the checkering on that beauty! I wonder how that is accomplished, anybody know? he must make his own cutters. Red

I had this rifle in my shop and got to look it over close up...workmanship, design and application were beyond reproach. The checkering is 18 LPI, While this can be laid out with a power tool, Ralf uses hand tools..just feels more at home with a hand tool

I believe that Ralf had made those tools for the "flat top" checkering. He had them on display at last year's ACGG show. Jim Jim Kobe 10841 Oxborough Ave So Bloomington MN 55437 952.884.6031 Professional member American Custom Gunmakers Guild

"........he told me who he uses for the engraving, but I can't remember his name." On his website he says its Warren Smith.

That is correct Warren Smith did do the engraving.

A power checkering tool in the shop would have likely caused Martin to have an apoplectic stroke. It was several years ago that Martin was demonstrating to Ralf and I the making and use of his hand tools. Ralf obviously learned real well. I, on the other hand, feel fortunate any time I use any sharp tool and avoid personal injury! Great stuff. Regards, Bill.
