I need to brag on Jim's bolt handle work. I think you will like it 22WRF! This is on my Banner Mauser that I am sending next week for Jim to stock. It is a 9.3X62. I think Jim did a great job. Butch

Very very nice. I think that when somebody shows a bolt job they should also show the receiver as well. A big part of putting a new bolt handle on is making sure it fits exactly to the receiver. Very nice work.

What part do you want to see? Do you want me to assemble the bolt and then slip it in? Can I just slip the bolt in? Butch

Ok, I took a couple more pics. Don't jump on me for hiding the Mauser Banner. I'm gonna put Jim on the spot. He said it will be ready in March 2010. Butch

he wants to see the notch and whatever changes made to lay it in correctly .. though, looking from Jim's weldament, it was pretty minor fitting needed on the receiver opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? Do you want to see a photo of the notch in the receiver for the bolt? I hope this is what you are asking. Butch

If you are going to hide it I can't think of a classier way. Jason "You're not hard-core, unless you live hard-core." _______________________ Hunting in Africa is an adventure. Looks good. On some of them you see a great big notch that is much larger than the bolt shank. Why I don't know.

I'm sure when Jim gets it he will touch up my F U's and polish the rest. I have a little handwork to do on the Blackburn bottom metal and it will be in the mail next week. I think it will make a good Texas hog rifle. The wood is a blank that I bought from Bill Soverns a good while back. Jim will do a little metal work, rust blue, and the stock. I'm real excited about Jim's work. Butch

I think that Jim Kobe takes a back seat to nobody when it comes to his 'smithing ...... I have two of his rifles, & a third one in the works, & they'll be passed on to my son & grandson. ____________________________ .470 & 9.3X74R Chapuis' Tikka O/U 9.3X74R Searcy Classics 450/.400 3" & .577 C&H .375 2 1/2" Krieghoff .500 NE Member Dallas Safari Club
