Hey jeffeoso-

Not that long ago you lectured me--well deserved, perhaps--on the real value of 1909 Argentine Mausers.

You posted links to any number of actions or long rifles... at great prices.

I was impressed. I thought I'd been following these puppies pretty well. Like a magician, you pulled rabbits out of hats.

Anyway... after having been informed by many members here (you have friends in high places) that I was out of line, I apologize.

I come, once again, groveling.

Got any more rabbits in that hat, jeffeoso?

I'm ready to start--good judgment to the wind--another project.

And I'd love a reasonably priced '09 action.

Apologies and thanks,

flaco

flaco,
i use the following sites, in no particular order

http://www.gunbroker.com
http://www.auctionarms.com
http://www.gunsamerica.com

the last one is not an auction house, and all it's prices are rather inflated. I think of all the prices on gunsamerica as "asking" prices.

generally if there's nothing one week there'll be something the next.

sorry, I honest don't mean to lecture, and usually my intention is nothing more than a structured delivery of data.

Good luck on your project(s)
jeffe

I happen to have a 1909 action for sale that it in pristine shape, but it doesn't have any bottom metal with it which is probably why you want 1909. But of course other bottom metal will work. $235.00 shipped might be more than you were thinking of, but this one is nice and smooth and no rust or pits anywhere. I also have one that already has a new bolt handle properly welded on, front ring and rear bridge round, slot opened up, front ring trued up, lugs lapped and bolt faced lapped. but no bottom metal. $300.00 shipped. As with all 09's both are soft and should be carburized if you are going to use them for high pressure cartridges.

I have 5 or 6 Argentine actions, 5 of them surface ground on the front and rear, one drilled and tapped already all with bottom metal. I will be posting them on here soon but I had a few folks I said I would contact before I listed them.
