Any thoughts if a Weaver K4 would hold up to the recoil of a sluggun recoil?

If it's an older steel Weaver it should hold up very well. Anyone who claims the 30-06 is ineffective has either not tried one, or is unwittingly commenting on their own marksmanship Phil Shoemaker Alaska Master guide FAA Master pilot NRA Benefactor www.grizzlyskinsofalaska.com

Thanks, I didn't know if the recoil would ruin it.

I am often full of BS, but I think the recoil from a 12ga slug is overrated. I just shot 1oz 2 3/4 slugs for the first time today and I don't think recoil was that bad. And my 870 has a plastic buttplate. Felt recoil was far less than a 375 and nowhere near a 416 or 458. I really can't see the slow recoil of a shotgun being any problem for a scope. I guess I should not talk too tough, I was not shooting 3 inch magnums. Jason "You're not hard-core, unless you live hard-core." _______________________ Hunting in Africa is an adventure. Back in the day I shot a zillion slug rounds from an old H&R with a K4 with no problems, I say go for it. for every hour in front of the computer you should have 3 hours outside
