Hi Guys!

Just a question if you all can help me. I am trying to build a 9.3x64 rifle. I’m having problems with Montana Rifleman and am unwilling to continue trying to work with them at this time.

Is there anyone else who can cut and install a chambered barrel on my action in this caliber?

Any help will be appreciated!

You can try Wasmundt's Gun Shop
680 Main Street
Fossil, OR 97830

His name is Jim

He has done 9.3x62s for others of us in the past.

Mike has done several for me. He gets my highest recommendation.

What hassles are there? If you find a smith that knows what he's doing this is a n easy conversion. Why should you settle for a cartridge you don;t want?

Lastly, why on earth would you want to use '06 brass when 9.3x62 is plentiful and not that expensive? Certainly anyone willing to pay for 9.3x64 brass would think 9.3x62 is downright cheap. More importantly, current '06 brass is considerably undersized.

9.3x64 brass is not that difficult to obtain. No you will not find it on sale down at the local Walmart but it is availible. And if you want to play it can be made from redily availible 338 or 458 Win brass. If you build a X64 you will not be disappointed.

I will concur with Terry's assessment. Mike has done for me also and the finished project was top shelf.

Thanks for the responses, Mike, I'll be dropping you a note in a day or two, soon as I sort things out.

As for a 9.3x62, well, my wife has one and I wanted something a little different. We already have plenty of 9.3 bullets (both for the 9.3x62 and a 9.3x57) and the brass isnt' too expensive from Huntingtons.
