I am busy getting the components together for my 500 Jeffery.

Will a P14 Action work for the a calibre like a 500 Jeffery?

Money is unfortunately a restricting matter Frowner

Advice will be appreciated.

the enfields will work, I have done 3 on them... and currently reworking my personal one.

If YOU are doing the work as a hobby, it may be cost effective, but if you are paying someone, just about anything is better from a cost prespective.

can you get a ruger or a weatherby (i know, it's not really a DGR) .. winchester or a vektor? sabi is right there in RSA

I don't know what he does for the 505 GIBBS but his 500 Jeffrey's are a work of art. I've been to his shop and seen his work. It is first class all the way.

I confused myself, I thought you were talking about a 505. The work he does on the 500 Jeffrey is absolutely great. He uses a newly manufactured (by him) stainless magazine box and opens the Mauser magazine well 1.5 M/M in the front and 3.5 M/M in the rear to accomodate the 500J round. I'm pretty sure he manufactures all of his own bottom metal. It ain't cheap except by American standards. The one I looked at was $2300 American. Look at the big bore pictures on his website.
