Does it make a difference between the two?


Does anyone make a Hi Picatinny without a front extention for a Rem 700 SA.

No real difference other then actual stack up in the combination used.
Although a low mount high ring will be lighter.
Personally I prefer low mounts

I think you might want to mock-up each option on your rifle and see which one looks best. To me, really high rings or bases can look awkward on certain action styles.

Good point and there is the aspect of objective lens clearance
