Does the Montana 1999 short action fit a Winchester Mod 70 short action stock?

Thanks,
KB

I researched that question myself, because I have an action. Jeffe is right on.

The wood stocks can be adapted, but the aluminum bedding block ones are quite a bit of work. The bolt spacing on the montana is slightly longer, and the bottom metal is a bit bigger.

It works with just a minor amount of fitting.
