Looking to borrow a nice 10/22 stock to make a pattern from. Just a nice tradition pattern. Don't want any of the exotics or thumbholes. Got that one covered.

As usual just my $.02

No don't think so. Looking for a new stock for my 10/22. Something with nice lines. Everything you find is either the Hogue, the RATICAL scifi look or factory.

Hoping to find one some has done and work a deal. Then I would have the pattern as well as a new stock.

Last option I guess would be a factory and BONDO. Now that I think of it a factory birch action and front spliced onto a Mini Mauser rear. Might work.

I always thought a 10/22 in a Ruger 77/22 stock would be a neat look, you'd have some bondo work to make it work but I think it could be done.

Yep I've seen the Volquartsen. Clark has one as well.

Remember this is to use to make a pattern or if the prices is right to start the pattern for a duplicator. Not a final stock ready to install.

tu2 Perfect with a touch different look in the butt. May just be the picture but it looks kind of like a slab of wood.

Thanks Jeff. The ebay give a better picture. Would need some serious work to make it a nice pattern.

I can't help you, but if you find or build one with some classic rifle lines I will have you turn one for me. At least you can recoup some of the time that way. The only one I ever found I like is here.

Don that style would be perfect. Looking at the rest he has for sale he has several nice patterns for the 10/22. But too rich for my blood. Was thinking of a more streamlined front than factory with something like this on the rear.

Hmmm coffee wonder how much bondo it would take to get that to fit a 10/22?

Looks good count me in. Get out the bondo. I prefer without the schable though I would be using a bull barrel.

I think it needs to be cut for a bull barrel you can always cut it down. Can't put the wood back. If there was HIGH demand it would be two patterns with/without Schnabel.

Barrel channel doesn't matter that can be opened. I just don't think there would be enough thickness with the schnabel, would there?

Could it be cut with enough wood for a Schnabel. Sure. Would it look right???? This old brain would have to see it. I "think" with a .9+ channel it would look strange. I think with a factory taper the Schnabel would look great.

I can see I need to get my 10-22 out this week and see what it would take.

Thanks Bobster. For their price even if the inletting is terrible it could make a good starting point.

Yes I agree. They indicate they can cut it 1/16 in. oversized for glass bedding too for an extra $17. That would make it real easy to get a perfect fit. If you wanted the Schnabel they will also leave extra wood on the fore end.

At a match a couple of weeks ago a fellow was shooting a 10/22 with a full length mannlicher stock that really looked nice. I believe it was a factory option at one time. Avery classy looking package.
