Douglas barrels are very good. If you require even more, get one of their air-gaged barrels. The dimensions and tolerances are the same as the other "big name" makers. I have a few of their barrels on different rifles, and am completely happy with them.

I have a 06 with a varmint weight douglas air gage barrel on it and regularly shoot pop cans with it at 400 yards. 'They are a fine barrel.

Have a Douglas barrel on my 64. Can't complain. Accurate with everything I have run through this barrel so far...

Montana, I have a Douglas air-gauged heavy sporter barrel on my .280 Rem silhouette rifle, and it shoots very well. A gunsmith friend prepared the Remington M721 action and also stocked the rifle (Macmillan synthetic stock) while he tutored me on how it is done. At the same time "we" built a 6.5-'06 on a Rem M700 with a Shilen barrel. Again he did the work, and I watched. This rifle is a shooter too. With that said my current order for a custom barrel is a Krieger. jim dodd
