How would a SR 98 hold up to say the 6mm Rem @ SAAMI pressuer spec's?

Seems like it would make a nice light wieght hunting rifle.

If it's small thread, no problem. If it's large thread, I wouldn't use any cartridge that generates over about 45K psi without expecting eventual headspace problems from receiver ring stretch. JMO.

A word to the wise, not all small ring 98's are created equal. Some of the large thread actions are better suited to higher pressures than the rest. The key is knowing which ones.

I prefer building rifles that use higher pressure rounds off of the small thread variety when using SR 98's.

The only SR LT actions I can find are the KAR98As

The M1910/1936 Mexicans, M33-40 VZ-33, CZ-33-40 are the only desirable SR, ST actions then?

Seems that the Mexicans being the shorter actions would be the most desirable for what I had in mind.

Fat chance of finding 1 of those for what I could afford.

I think I'll just go W/the VZ-500 Yugo LR intermediate action I already have.
