is there any way to clean the releasing agent off of the gun metal besides scraping it off? is there any solvent that will remove it without harming the metal? thanks in advance, tom

What does the can say?

I use silicone rain impragnating spray (for slip) and it wipes off with Coleman fuel/ white gaz.

No, youll have to re-blue... Big Grin

Most gun cleaners will soften it up and make it easier to come off.

if it's the blue release agent in acra glass. Water of alcohol works.

Acra Glass uses Poly Vinal acetate (PVA) which is water soluble. Be sure to oil it good and wash with hot water. BIll
