I asked this on the medium bore but thought I might get more response here. Here is what my new toy cost.
Savage m111 300 Win Mag new:$319
adj recoil pad:$50
bolt jewelled:$60
muzzle brake:$75
BSA 6x24x40 scope, mounts, rings and mounting:$140.75
replace plastic trigger guard:$22
total cost:$666.75
How bad did I get hurt? All the work that was done is excellent.

Must be nice!

Hey the more important thing is are you happy with the work? Are you glad you have the rifle? Can you afford it and use it without thinking about the money? Do you think your Gunsmith was working for you to give you what you wanted?
Those are the questions I try to answer before I worry about it.
I think you got a fair deal.
