I bought a new PF mod 70 in .270 real cheap at walmart. Can I have this rebarrelled with a used 1980's featherweight barrel in .257 roberts. Both are pushfeeds but wondered if the featherweight action was maybe different from a regular mod 70. Any feeding issues with using the existing magazine. Bama

basically, the answer is yes, a gunsmith will need to install and time it.. and on a 270 action, you can set the 257 bullets out LONG opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? Sounds good!! I like the thoughts of a LONG 3" Roberts. Will I likely have any feeding problems? Would a newer featherweight classic (easier to find) stock fit this combo? Bama

generally the roberts throat is longer than the "short actions" allow the bullets to be seated, so this will be a plus for you. The barrel is quite a bit lighter in contour, so yes, they featherweight stock is the easiest route, though not always cheap. should feed as well as the 270 does jeffe opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? you might want to see about some type of magazine block for the shorter ammo but in the end you'll have a sweet hunting and varmint rifle.
