My gunsmith has this about 90% finished. I also have a set of original between the wars Mauser DST's. Would you think the appropriate for that or a second barrel in 300 H&H?

thanks guys,

Rich

No DST for me. But that's just me.

Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.

why'd you waste your money on a wildcat, when the 375 ruger would have left you a larger safety margin, and factory dies, ammo, and resale?

Same reason Ruger dropped the RSM's. And, it came to me that way.

Rich

PS: you think a 1951 FN commercial mauser actioned 375 H&H Imp with dies won't sell in about ten minutes?

not if priced at market - no .. i do think one in 375 HH or 375 Ruger would sell faster, at the same price point.

Say -- does that 1951 commerical mauser have a SN on the top of the front ring, where the crest usually goes? is it SN'ed on the left side? or does it have a factory SN at all?

hey buddy... did you have time to eyeball that action and take a look for serial numbers? Just wondering if you had one of them "common" mauser actions, with the SN over the front ring, rather than a crest. ..

don't really need pics, just your word that there's a SN right where sgt ryan says is his total experience with mausers...

If so, just about like my .375 Wby. You'll love it. 300 grains at 2,800 fps. Yee haa!
