I just tried screwing a barrel from an L61r into an L579 action and it didn't want to go. ----------------------------------------------------- Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you yourself will be just like him. Proverbs 26-4 National Rifle Association Life Member

Very early L61s were 1.000" OD. Not sure what years or serial number range constitutes very early. Suffice to say, I've never run across a 1.000" L61R.

Once again, thanks for the informative replies. The OSD of this barrel is 1.042" so apparently for a large action... so more than a little fitting will be required. ![]() Member NRA, SCI- Life #358 28+ years now! DRSS, double owner-shooter since 1983, O/U .30-06 Browning Continental set.
