I seem to remember eazy bake oven cleaner removes anodizing. I know it worked on some anodized street rod parts.

From what I've read, lye will remove anodizing. Read this web site, http://www.focuser.com/atm/anodize/anodize99.html In it he uses lye to remove old anodizing from an aluminum part. If you do use the lye solution to remove the anodizing, make sure you read and heed any saftey warnings. -- Scott
