Does anyone make a barrel band sling stud in stainless steel?
I can only find CM; I have used Ruger #1 bands in the past but brownells stopped carrying them.

You could do what I did and bite the bullet and make your own. Not that difficult but you'll have to charge way more than for a $30 CM unit.

I thought about that; last resort. But given that no one makes on like Talley, I will have to make one.

Might be easier to buy some blued ones and have them hard chromed.

Satin nickel; thought about that. Thanks. That is probably what I will end up doing. Drill a Talley for a set screw. Have it plated.
Ideally find a Ruger one; I have one but it is too big.

Savage made them for the Model 112 if you're lucky enough to find one now. Part #103152

Kerry Stottlemyer(I butchered the spelling of his last name) used to post here as KCStott(?). He is a Southern California machinists who dabbled in custom gun parts. He made me some Mauser square bridges in various configurations, such as slotted for a peep sight. Anyway, I know that he once made a barrel band in an odd size for a customer. I believe it was larger than what was commercially available.

His prices were unbelievably reasonable for the quality of his work. You might try to contact him.

Send me a PM if you would like his contact info.

Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.
