Looking to finish a laminate stock. Planned on spraying a coat, 000 steel wooling it, etc, then not buffing the last coat. Has anyone used this finish, and were results acceptable?

Love shooting precision and long range. Big bores too!

Recent college grad, started a company called MK Machining where I'm developing a bullpup rifle chassis system.

I use it as well - like to use when I've stained a light wood and don't want to mess up the stain. jeffeosso has it right on the application.

Is the finish nice and smooth? I like the idea of not touching the stock and getting fingerprints or marks in the final coat.

How smooth the finish will be depends on your prep in cleaning the surface, ability to apply a coat that will not run(more lite coats are better than a thick one) and a clean invironment while it is drying. Using for a final coat would look great if your after a glossy finish.

I have also used it. Its real easy to get to heavy a coat. The advise given above is perfect except stop before you think you have enough on it. DW
