I purchased a set of Warne maxima bases to mount on my bolt action across the course rifle built by Jim Cloward on a Springfield 1903 action. The rifle is already drilled and tapped but the bases they sent me are not drilled. They have the proper contour but no holes!!!!

I need to use the Maxima bases since they are a Weaver style base and my match sights I will be using attach to a Weaver style base. Also by using the Maxima bases I can swap between metallic sights to a scope for "any rifle, any sight" matches by using Warne QD rings.

I could sure use some help on this one if anybody has any suggestions.

Machine shop or gunsmith! any good machinist or smith should be able to take the measurements from your rifle and tranfer them to the bases. Or you could send them to the guy who built your gun and have him do the bases to match!!!

M1 Bring it on Monday to the Motorpool. After the BN formation we can sign some tools out of the tool room and get to drilling!

If it were me I would much prefer it done on a mill.. The holes have to be counterbored for the cap screw head. A machinist would have the proper tooling to do it in a jiffy. He will need the receiver to get the hole diameter and spacing.
