I have both a Ruger 77 MKII Stainless action and a Winchester 70 push feed CM action. Both are short actions. So, I want to choose one to have a custom barrel put on, either 260R or 6.5x47L, haven't decided yet. I like both actions about equal. The controlled feed of the Ruger has no special appeal for this rifle project. I'm just plain having trouble deciding which action to use, and which to sell to help pay for the project. One day it's the Ruger and another day, it's the Winchester. I plan on using walnut stock either way. From a gunsmith's perspective, easiest to true and work with to get good results, etc., which action do you recommend I use? Thanks, KB ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~

I agree with all but one point. The Ruger does not need a new trigger. All it needs is a rifle basix sear. Dennis Olson did mine and it's as good as any.
