Next choice would be Mineral Sprits.

"Stoddards Solvent" is a generic name for Exxon's brand Varsol, but thanks for the confirmation that it may work well.

Just use deoderized kerosene. Stoddard's is kinda rough on the hands.

If this is in an enclosed tank, you can move up to true industrial grade cleaners, but generally need to buy a drum. Dichloromethane, trichloromethane or perchloromethane.

Perch is what dry cleaners use.
