Has anybody seens Dan's new receiver. Looks like a round action Remington with intergel recoil lug. It has a cone bolt and control round feeding and a Remington safety and trigger.

I was under the impression that he was going to make Mauser 98 actions just as Fred Wells did...

Was there a change in plans or did I get my wires crossed?

Butch, Your description of Danny's action is accurate. I think Rube Wells, Fred's son, is doing the 98 actions.

Thanks, Butch. Can anyone comment? It looks to be a hybrid design incorporating elements of the M70 and the M98 systems.

Actually it looks more Remington to me. Remington style trigger, round action Remington footprint, and bolt shroud and cocking piece.

I wonder if there is a market for this product? Didn't Pedersen make barrels for the late Fred Wells? Most folks on this site seem to favor Mauser pattern designs/Mausers as the basis for rifles.

Interesting to watch. Thanks again, Butch.

Reminds me of the Dakota '97 with a different handle.
