Does anyone know where the big rifle companies like Winchester, Ruger, Remington etc. get their barrels. I understand that Ruger, and I think Savage makes their own, but have no idea about the others. Thanks for the help.
I would be interested in where the Kimber 84 centerfire barrels are made. A gunshop store clerk told me that the blanks are made by Wilson and turned to shape by Kimber in N.Y.
Remington makes their own. "Hammer Forged Rifling". In the past Remington used Rock barrels for a few LE applications (M24) but they brought manufacture back in house.

I think that's a Remington rumor. Who'd want to take credit for the Model 700
