Anyhting is possible with enough money. If you have to ask the question, you likely can't afford one.

Last I heard $115,000 would get a bare bones model from Holland and Holland. I suspect it's upwards of that now. Some of the lesser known Rifle makers might do one a bit cheaper. The loaded ammmo goes for around $100 per round. AT 1,850 fps (actuall)and all that frontal area for the 1,000 grain .70 cal. solid don't expect too much penetration! I understand our old buddy Mark Sullivan has the 1st one made (value ove $250,000) and that they were in the process of making one more and stopping. I like the idea of a single-round costing more than $100.00 has a cerain cachet to it don't you think?

I think Searcy or Holland & Holland would even make you a 800 Nitro Express if you pay for the design and development of it.

Are you serious? No gun can cost $ 115,000.00. What are you buying? The H&H name or something else? Julian

DB Bill,
The first Holland and Holland 700 NE (serial no. 1) went to that Feldstein fellow. The second H&H 700 NE (serial no. 2) went to that Eader fellow. Per your info, Mark Sullivan also has one. Wonder what the serial number is? Butch Searcy made some for one of the Jurassic Park movies. I think he only charges $40,000 for a 700 NE. Not bad considering what goes into it and what you get.

500grains, As I recall in Jurassic Park II the PH carries a Searcy 600NE double, not a 700NE. Regardless neither is cheap! Todd E

The octogenarian was heard to mumble, as he accepted the package from the UPS delivery person, "At last!! The British Double-barreled Express Rifle my great-grandfather ordered in 1912!!"

Overkill if you want the biggest bang for the least $ I think that the .585 Nyatti is the way to go me and my best mate are in the process of building them at the moment. From al reports as I have not fired one yet we will be battling to shoot it straight due to recoil. I gather that you like the big bores so why don't you purchase a Brno 602 or cz 550 and begin the process of building a .585 Nyatti. Regards PC. ------------------
