Paul HAnyhting is possible with enough money. If you have to ask the question, you likely can't afford one.

Rich ElliottLast I heard $115,000 would get a bare bones model from Holland and Holland. I suspect it's upwards of that now. Some of the lesser known Rifle makers might do one a bit cheaper. The loaded ammmo goes for around $100 per round. AT 1,850 fps (actuall)and all that frontal area for the 1,000 grain .70 cal. solid don't expect too much penetration!

DB BillI understand our old buddy Mark Sullivan has the 1st one made (value ove $250,000) and that they were in the process of making one more and stopping. I like the idea of a single-round costing more than $100.00 has a cerain cachet to it don't you think?

Ken ClineI think Searcy or Holland & Holland would even make you a 800 Nitro Express if you pay for the design and development of it.

<Julian>Are you serious? No gun can cost $ 115,000.00. What are you buying? The H&H name or something else?

<500 AHR>Last I heard a 700 NE H&H Royale Ejector would set you back 95,000 pounds. That would be roughly $140,000 USD. Ammo is over $100 USD a cartridge to. Be prepared to wait three years to take possession of your baby. They have a long gestation period.
I think Butch Searcy advertises them for around $50,000 on a side lock action. If I could talk the boss into it I would love to have a Searcy Field Grade Box Lock in 577 NE.
Although the ideal setup would be a 600 NE then I could hunt in shotgun country and tell everyone it is simply a full length brass 20 gauge slug gun with full length rifled barrels. Too expensive though.
Saeed did build up a 700 NE bolt gun. If you go the reloading page under the 700 NE I believe he provides some background. That would be the most cost effective way of getting one.

SaeedOverkill,
We built ours on a single shot 50 BMG action. Total cost was around $5,000.

500grainsDB Bill,
Your info is a little off.
The first Holland and Holland 700 NE (serial no. 1) went to that Feldstein fellow.
The second H&H 700 NE (serial no. 2) went to that Eader fellow.
Per your info, Mark Sullivan also has one. Wonder what the serial number is?
Butch Searcy made some for one of the Jurassic Park movies. I think he only charges $40,000 for a 700 NE. Not bad considering what goes into it and what you get.

<500 AHR>500grains,
As I recall in Jurassic Park II the PH carries a Searcy 600NE double, not a 700NE.
Regardless neither is cheap!

<eldeguello>The octogenarian was heard to mumble, as he accepted the package from the UPS delivery person, "At last!! The British Double-barreled Express Rifle my great-grandfather ordered in 1912!!"
Overkill if you want the biggest bang for the least $ I think that the .585 Nyatti is the way to go me and my best mate are in the process of building them at the moment. From al reports as I have not fired one yet we will be battling to shoot it straight due to recoil.
I gather that you like the big bores so why don't you purchase a Brno 602 or cz 550 and begin the process of building a .585 Nyatti.
Regards PC.
