On a Ruger77 wood T/S stock. If the barrel is free floated and the forearm pressure point is removed, do Ruger torque specs still apply. Thank you Paul Take Trophies - Leave Brass

I never torque anything but head bolts; so, no. Never saw any difference as long as they were tight.

I put my rugers in a vice, set up the dial indicator. screw front screw to 35, then tighten rear. If it moves more than .002 I loosen rear up and tighten front 5 inch lbs and repeat with rear. Usually (if properly inletted or bedded) it will settle down somewhere between 35-45 inch pounds. Side note, just got a new ruger hawk eye. shot it a few times before taking it apart. grouped just outside 1' with factory ammo. Back to the shop, took it apart and wood between trigger guard and mag box already split. will put buried cross bolt in before bedding.

Did you try it before the meticulous tightening regimen? In the Vise? I know, some have their own system for tightening; so do I. On hunting rifles, no difference; yes I have used torque wrenches.

Sure, you can follow those recos, and if it's too loose, tighten a bit more opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? Case Drawings 416-458-470AR and 500AR. 476AR, http://www.weaponsmith.com
