Whitworth action, Jeffe. The Sako is a 300 Wby but it's too small for this hunt.

Dang Jeffe; your group's ammo will weigh more than my group's rifles.

Opening morning in our camp will look something like this:

1 - 25/06
1 - 6.5X55
1 - 7X57
1 - 7/08
4 - 270
1 - 7mm Mag

Some second team rifles include 250 Sav, 257 Rob, 280, 308 and 30-06. Unfortunately, there are no Rhinos on our ranch.

I'm new to my hunt club, and although I've introduced myself to each member I met, I didn't ask a single one what they were shooting.
In the club I belonged to before, I knew what my partner used because I admired it. And one other guy that came over from AZ. My partner hunted with a .30-06 that was built by his late father. It was on a Mauser action and was an absolute tack driver. The guy from AZ was using an old Win 70 Featherwieght that was chambered for the .257 Imp Bob.

I don't know how I'd even begin to get a list together from each member.

I'd be scared to hunt on a farm of only 4,800 acres with 28 people! My club limits it to one rifle per thousand acres. Nate

Hmmmm, the only "club" went on this year was with ForrestB and M1Tanker. If memory serves there were 7 guns or was it 8. Forrest's gorgeous 270, my 7X57 and the rest belonged to Bill, including a rather unique takedown Kimber .308. I will let him explain it. BTW, Bill also had two or three ammo cans full. If the war stared there we would have been in good shape.

Not a club, but me and my hunting buddies will probably have a couple of bows and rifles in .243 Win, .260 Rem, 7x65R, .308 Win, and .30-06 Spr in hand as we pursue whitetails. Past rifles have also included .223 Rem, 7mm-08, .358 Win, 9.3x62, and .45-70, not to mention a 20-ga. muzzleloader firing a round ball. One guy has used handguns in .357 and .44 Mag. We like to switch around and try different things.

I do not really hunt on a Club either. I typically hunt with my wife's family. They all use Remington 700's or Savage 110's in .243.

I am the odd one out as I will use either a Customized Mauser in 7mm-08, a M-S in 8X60, or a Savage 99 in 300 Savage. I hope to add a Spingfield 03 in 30-06 soon. One year I hunted with a .45 cal muzzleloader shooting patched round ball.

The reason for all the rifles and ammo was that I figured we needed to be prepared in case of a rampant deer invasion. Unfortunately that didnt happen. But we were invaded by out of state hunters this year.

I have to say that both Chic's and Forrest's rifles were true works of art. I fely very privelaged to have been able to fondle them. (the rifles only, not Chic and Forrest) In fact I had it all planned out to knock both of them over the head and add those rifles to my collection. But before that could happen I turned my new Kimber into a take down and gave my right leg another joint when me and a 4 wheeler decided roll down the hill sideways instead of on the tires. Since Chic and Forrest hauled my carcass off the mountain and to the ER I figured I would drop the new rifle acquisition plans for this year.

If you ever get the chance to check out Forrest's rifles or Chic's stock work you will se some truly beautiful yet 100% functional rifles. Having rifles like that in camp really adds a touch of class to the outfit.
