Not without ruining one or both of the parts. Big Grin

Completely different threads.

Despite the cz550 being touted as a Mauser, it is not. It does have Mauser inspired features though.

Lets start with, I normally cut off the shank and cut new threads, BUT, if you really wanted to use both parts...

amazingly close threads, and if you have a mauser die or are very good at picking up threads on a lathe, it barely takes off a sliver of metal from threads of the CZ .

generally you can start (2/3 to 3/4 turns) a cz barrel onto a mauser action.

and the markX WILL have 60deg rather than 55deg threas.

also, if you don't like that approach, cut the thread shank off, then rethread.. there is PLENTY of barrel taper left.

Of course timing and headspace will have to be set,

Seems like a octagon peg in a round hole. Good grief, don't encourage the man. If anyone will or can do it, Gumboot will. Wink

I was thinking the CZ 550 threads are metric? Are they not?

Metric 28mmx2mm. Pitch works out quite differently than 12 tpi, more like 12.7 tpi. Close enough? Hmm.
