I have an older CZ-75 I picked up for a song that the previous owner botched pretty good when he installed a set of Bo-mars. Would like to weld up the dovetail and little bit of flat he carved on the rear of the slide and restore an original fixed sight. Does anyone know of a smith who can do this work (build up the metal with a weld) and reshape the rear of the slide? I want it done right but CZ will sell me a stripped slide for $205 so if I'm looking at a gunsmith bill greater than $150 or so I'll just go with the new slide route. Thanks

It will be much cheaper to go the way of the new slide at 205.

What i had done years ago, with a botched up job like that on a 1911 slide,i tookd a blank blade and silver soldered to the slide.the filed it done to the contours of the slide. Then i cut the slide to fit a S&W adjustable sight off a relvolver and it worked super, and had classic lines to it as well. van

Buy a new slide. Many smiths won't even touch the job, let alone charge you less than $205. -Spencer

If you have it welded, even by the best guy in the business, it will probably warp and be rendered useless. Jim Kobe 10841 Oxborough Ave So Bloomington MN 55437 952.884.6031 Professional member American Custom Gunmakers Guild
