Hello Well coming down to the end of this project.. I ordered a new laminated rifle stock from Richards Microfit and am getting to the finishing stages. I just got it back from the gunsmith who glass bedded it and shorted the pull a little. I finished shaping and sanding the stock and finished up with 220 grit sandpaper. I am now ready for the next step, but this is where I am not sure what the next step should be.. I will probably finish up with a polyurathane spray product but would like some opinions.. Thanks much.. Why do they call it common sense, when it is so uncommon??

use "gunsavr" or "pro custom gun oil" .. they are the same stuff... if you want to use a spray. marine (spar) varnish if you want to drive over to the hardware store... nice poly.. and can be satin or vilvit oil from midway.... that stock will suck up an amazing amount of oil. jeffe opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? I've used this and find it gets the job done nicely. I've used tru-oil and tongue oil too but this spray product in satin is a fine product. Let it dry thoroughly between coats...often a couple days. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Clear enamel or clear laquer from an automotive paint supply store is very durable. It will take a few coats with sanding in between. www.duanesguns.com
