I am looking for an Adams & Bennett barrel in 6.5x55, series 3, F34 contour. Midway is sold out with no backorder. Is there any other place to get them?

Check with Numrich/Gunparts Corp. Thier site list Adams & Bennet barrels. Search their site for barrels or the specific caliber barrel you want. I don't know how or why they have them but have cataloged them for a while.

I read lots of stuff pro and con about A&B barrels but just remembered something. An acquaintance recently bought an incomplete Savage action/A&B barrel project. It is .358 Win. He completed it (had headspace adjusted and put it in a stock)and began shooting if after barrel breakin. He showed me a 3/4" c-c 3 shot group he fired at 100 yds from that A&B barrel. That is way more than adequate for a .35 cal hunting rifle in my opinion.

Not saying tha an A&B will best a Kreiger but beauty is as beauty does.

The poorest brand barrel can get a good group under the right circumstances.

A better measure of barrel quality would be:
1) How fast does it Copper foul and how hard is it to clean?
2) Does it shoot straight when hot from previous shots?
3) Is the quality consistent from barrel to barrel?

In 2002 A&B may have been Shaw rejects and a 2008 A&B may be Green Mountain standard production.

What does it all mean?
The worst barrel in the world is my A&B .243 bull barrel circa 2002 that has shot 3 holes touching. The bore looks like an inside out rat tailed file. Your A&B may look like a Lilja inside, mine doesn't.
