I guess Citri-Strip is some rugged stuff. Is it safe to use on a walnut stock that has had the action bedded with Brownells Acra Glas Gel? PA Bear Hunter, NRA Benefactor

I'd test it on an inconspicuous spot first. Acraglas is a type of plastic. If no joy, get a set of English wood scrapers off Ebay and scrape it off. That's what we have to do on those two-part finishes.

Most stripping compounds, will attack nearly all bedding compounds. Acra Glas Gel is one one the easiest to remove with stripping compounds. So be careful and keep it off the bedding.

We just got the opposite problem in the shop last week. A stock that needs the bedding removed in order to be properly bedded. Normally I use the Dremel, but this time I may try the Citristrip.

Use a hair dryer and a U shaped chisel..heat the bedding and scrape it out.. Ray Atkinson Atkinson Hunting Adventures 10 Ward Lane, Filer, Idaho, 83328 208-731-4120 rayatkinsonhunting@gmail.com

No, just a drill press and an old Clausing 12" lathe plus a lot of hand tools. We have a heat gun and I will give that a go and hopefully it will soften enough to pry out.

For many years, I've used a soldering iron to soften Acra-Glas. Just go slowly....and be very careful. Hope this helps. evin
