What is a pre-safety win 94 "big bore" action worth? Originally a 307 Win. No rust or pits. Thanks

Heed the words of Winston Smith in Orwell's 1984:

"Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right."

Look on gunbroker or Gunsamerica for similar models. If you want to sell it, take $50 to $100 off the average asking price. If you just want to show it to everyone list it at the prices online. Most guys start 10% to 20% high. The rule of thumb for buying and selling used guns in 90% condition is to take the new retail price divided by 4 x 3 to get retail used selling price. Buying price is generally half of new retail. On guns under $200 you want to make about $80 on the resale or you can't pay the bills.

Some people don't think that's fair on big dollar items but the more something costs, the longer it will sit so the margin has to be higher.

When I was a kid. I had the stick. I had the rock. And I had the mud puddle. I am as adept with them today, as I was back then. Lets see today's kids say that about their IPods, IPads and XBoxes in 45 years!

Within the last month I sold a well used safety 94 in .307 with no box or papers for $500. As the pre cross bolt actions are valued much higher. I would start at $500. There were less than 2000 total .307's made. If someone is interested in building one, your action would be first choice. You can always drop the price if it does not sell.

I think he has just the action, not a complete gun.

I don't know a lot of guys using the 94 as the base of a custom gun. And, if they are, I'm not sure that a premium would be paid for the Big Bore.

Id guess $300. Ymmv.

I bought a 1958 pre 64 on here for 400.00, complete rifle. Barrel is rough but I bought it for the action. Wife wants a 30/30.
