I just gave a Mauser bolt to a local gunsmith. I will play Indian giver and see if he will let me have it. I will let you know tomorrow. Butch

Hey, Red!

I have a complete 03 bolt with the handle contoured for a low scope that I’ll give you just because that beautiful picture you posted of your 03 got me motivated to get to work on the ones I have sitting around the shop.

I have had it for awhile and will never use it since I have no plans to ever mount a scope on any of my 03’s. It’s in beautiful condition.

Rick, thanks very much! drop me an e-mail and I'll send you money for the shipping. theonlybigred@earthlink.net I really appreciate it.

thanks for the suggestion Jeff, but it wouldn't be the same, wouldn't have to deal with guide ribs, safety lugs and extractor collars, plus my indexer wouldn't have a way of holding onto them. but thanks for the offer of the other bolts Smiler

Just out of curiousity, what kind of a setup are you using to jewel those bolts.

It's a fixture that holds the bolt between centers and has a wheel for turning it. but to hold it there has to be a firing pin hole on one side and the hollow end of the bolt on the other.
