Ordered a Zastava 7x57 with double triggers as part of the left handed group buy. Never seen one in person so am asking the experts a question. Do you think the magazine box is long enough to handle the .280 AI? Am hoping I can rechamber this rifle to some improved version of the .280. My biggest fear is when I die my wife will sell my guns for what I told her they cost.

depends - the 308 length actions have a block in the mag, that is easy to remove, and then it's 3.35 internal length. you've been around long enough to know I prefer 7x64 over 280 and 280 over 280 AI... but that's not important. opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? Most likely but if not, it isn't hard to remove the mag block (if installed) or swap the unit for an '06 length unit. As far as I know, only the .22-250, .243 and .308's had mag blocks. Aut vincere aut mori

My wife rifle uses a Zastava factory barreled action. It uses the normal 06 length action. My buddy has a MKX 7x57 that we ran my 280PDK reamer in which is more like a Gibbs with no issue. As usual just my $.02 Paul K

If you plan on useing 160 grain bullets you will always wish you had a longer mag box. Doug Humbarger NRA Life member Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club 72'73. Yankee Station Try to look unimportant. Your enemy might be low on ammo.
