I just got my new Ruger in. After shooting two boxes of ammunition through it I really think the safety is kinda cheesy ( technical term ). Does anyone make a model 70 style conversion? It's a good shooting rifle (375 H&H) but I do not care for the safety.

I am certain you pulled the rifle outo fthe action and looked at it? the safey both block the trigger and then locks the bolt...

btw, the RSM is a differnt beast than the mkII... it's huge in comparison...

anyway, the part is made from sintered metal (powdered) and I don't believe it can be welded as the standing complaint is the its not long or tall enough....

and would be a major PITA to make

I am not aware of a shroud based version

I would like to at least try a replacement for the stock safety on the RUger M77 Mark II; I have the Hawkeye African, and the safety must be rotated CCW then pushed to the OFF position to fire. Definitely a two motion operation, and an opportunity for Murphy to interfere.
