Safety note--- Knight-MML straight lines

Please take a careful look at the in-line muzzle loading rifles that operate by simple 'zip gun' plunger. Most have a copy of a Timney trigger in them and there is a problem using that trigger in those rifles.
Timing and adjustment is very important when the safety is run by spring instead of by the shooter's hand and some guns will 'jam' the safety plunger and act and test 'safe', only to fire seconds later when the spring overcomes friction.

BEWARE hard safety plate movement! That is the first indication of the internal interference.
The unhandy but safe secondary striker safety does prevent firing, positively. Don't trust the side safety to *always* work, though.

For the analytical gunsmiths: The trigger is made for a M95-96. The sear is always up unless it's just been shot. In the straight line Knights it's always down unless it's lined up with the cocking notch. Short cocking OR over-cocking makes the floating sear a dangerous and unpredictable part that catches between the back of the trigger and cocking surface of the striker. Perching of the safety in the null position and then pulling the trigger will often times fire the rifle, also.

It is a zip gun with a rough copy of a target trigger in it.Please be especially careful with these guns. There is no 'cure' without lots of machine work and major alterations.

I'll bet there are some questions on this one!

Aw Jim, and it was moving nicely down the page. I liked this part best(yes I know it is out of context):

That does it for me. There's one current ACGG gunmaker who will never get a penny's worth of work from me. Childish remarks and a troublemaker from the git-go.

I kinda like jack and jim. However there most certainly is a history which fueled Jim's response. Perhaps you should give him a call to find out why, as that level of snark is out of character for him.

Jim, tin can has a great sense of humor. I think what he means is you "established your attitude for Mr. Belk and then discarded him", thus EXtablishing him.

At least that's the way I got it. Pretty funny from where I sit. Smiler

Before you open you mouth and stick your foot in it do a search on Mr. Belk and learn why he gets such negative responses here.

He only showed up to promote a show he was one about ongoing legal battle he was a star witness in. then when asked a question he "Could not comment do to the nature of the case"
Now he's back pushing more BS that i bet some gun company is getting sued over.

He makes the majority of his income by being a paid expert witness.
Now he may be an expert but an Ex is a has been and a spurt is a drip under pressure so you figure it out.

And he only has 90 posts so it wouldn't take long to go through them all and see what kind of person he is.
There was a lot demystifying going on by Remington about this joker.

I know the whole story! Every last little tidbit and maybe more besides. A person can choose to stew in your own juices or just let the crap go. I'm a retired General Contractor. If I had all the money that people owe me right now, and which I'll never see a dime of, I could have Duane Weibe build about 10-15 rifles for me and then take enough trips to Africa to use all of them. People disappoint other people, it's a fact of life! People also go off the deep end on occasion and really, really disappoint other people. I like doing business with folks that can keep on keeping on when they've been screwed big time and recover nicely!

I usually don't stew about it until I see the unsavory SOB back up to his old games. My intent was to warn others about what he is again up to, only that.

tu2Off topic,But***JK., the 22 Jet you built for me on the Ruger #1 has proved to be a real shooter. With the long throat, allowing the use of a little more powder, and the fast twist it out strips it's kissing cousin the .218 Bee producing greater energy using heavy for caliber bullets. Nice job!! beerroger clap
